Dr. Khachatryan is a Professor at the College of Business and Economics and the Academic Director of Sponsored Programs & Technology Transfer at American University of Armenia. She is an associate researcher at the Centre for European Research in Microfinance (CERMi), Belgium.
Dr. Khachatryan’s scholarly activities are anchored in financial inclusion, gender and conflict economics. She has publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Business Horizons, Applied Economics, International Migration, Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance, Review of Development Economics, Eastern European Economics, Strategic Change, and others.
Dr. Khachatryan has an active agenda on applied research projects and consulting by working with UNDP, EU, USAID, DiKu (Norway), SIDA (Sweden) and others. Currently, she serves as the Principal Investigator of a two-year project on “Closing gender gaps through economics research in Armenia” in collaboration with SITE (Sweden) funded by the Swedish Institute. Also, she is leading one of the Working Packages on Institutional Reforms of a five-year project on “Center for Ethics in Public Affairs (ETICA)” of Horizon Europe European Research Area (ERA) Chair program funded by the EU.
As an academic administrator, Dr. Khachatryan previously served as the inaugural program chair of the BA in Business program at the College of Business and Economics and as the inaugural Vice-Provost for Integration at AUA.
She holds a PhD in Management from SKEMA Business School and a double degree of French Doctorate from University of Cote d’Azur (former University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis), France.
